We're located in Ridge Lane between J2 of the M27 and Romsey Coming from Southampton exit the M27 at junction 2 and take the first exit marked Fawley and Totton. After about 100 yards take the slip to the left marked Totton which brings you to a T junction. Turn left towards Totton for about 1/2 mile and just after the 40mph sign opposite a shed and garden fence shop is a turning to the left marked Hillstreet. Follow this road for about 1 mile crossing over the M27 motorway and down a steep wooded lane. Just after a small bridge crossing a stream is a left hand bend and the entrance to our range is just a few yards further around on the left through a double 5 bar gate. This is the first double 5 bar gate you come to. There is a small wooden sign opposite the gate for the Test Way footpath. The gate should be unlocked, but the chain will be wrapped around it to hold it closed as there is often livestock in the lower field. If it is locked and has a "shoot in progress" card on the lock it's worth walking up the path as the estate occasionally lock us in. Someone will be able to come down and let you in. Travel up the track and you will arrive at old disused farm buildings where you can park. We occasionally shoot in the woods at the end of the track. Please can you ensure the gate is closed behind you with the chain wrapped around it as there is occasionally livestock around.
Just approaching the gates.
Just over the small bridge crossing a stream you'll see Moorcourt Farm on your right. The gates to the SBFTC grounds are just a few more yards on the left hand side set back slightly from the road.
These are the gates which will be to your left if you've followed the instructions. Ensure you close them behind you and wrap the chain to keep them closed. Often livestock is kept in the lower fields and it's a condition of the lease that these gates are closed at all times. In summer the verges can be really overgrown and you can't see the gate until you're alongside it. Once you've gone over the small bridge it's only about 100 yards to the gate so start to slow down! The track up to our range is also used during the week by agricultural vehicles and is really rutted in places. Unless you drive a Land Rover watch out for your sump and exhaust on the way up.
