The 2007 SBFTC committee comprises of the following elected officers:
The club AGM takes place annually at which all officers are re-elected. Any full member can be nominated for the committee although generally one full years membership and regular attendance is a requirement. Being on the committee is quite a commitment, opening up early on a Sunday morning to set up and paint the targets so shooting can start at 9, putting them away in the afternoon, maintenance, co-ordinating with the CSFTA the Landlord and the BFTA, insurance, health and safety and much more besides. All committee members pay their own membership fees in full and do not receive any reward, financial or otherwise, for their work in maintaining and developing the club. All training courses and any travel costs are paid for by the committee member and not the club. Club days are generally built around regional and national competitions as all of the committee compete, if we didn't do this no one would stand for office. The only way this can change is for a non competing member to take on the Secretary role. We operate an autonomous club in which all members have a say in the way the club is run within the terms of our lease, prevailing BFTA regulations and most importantly safety and legislation.
